THE STANDARD GATE :
This is the least costly and most widely used type of child safety gates. It fits standard size doorways and is adjustable from about 30″-45″. These are generally the easiest for a child to maneuver and disengage as well, so be sure to choose one that is very sturdy and secure.
EXTRA WIDE BABY GATES :
These are designed to fit doorways that are wider than the standard measurement. They can also be extended but generally only with the use of extension panels, which must be purchased separately. They are generally used for Super Wide Gate and Play Yard double doors, patio doors, sliding-panel doors, etc.
CUSTOM SAFETY GATES :
These gates are flexible, usually multi-sectioned, and allow unusually-shaped areas of the home to be sectioned off specifically, such as areas around fireplaces, stoves, televisions, stairways, etc. A makeshift play yard may be created with a custom safety gate as well, to contain an child and his toys in a specific area.
